
Annamaria Minicozzi, an italian doctor working as Colorectal and Laparoscopic Consultant Surgeon at the Royal London Hospital, won one of the five individual prizes given to the best medical staff of the Barts Health NHS Trust.
The ceremony for the “2025 Barts Health Heroes Awards” took place on the 12 of February at The Brewery in central London. There were ten awards in total celebrating the very best of Barts Health NHS Trust, including five team and five individual prizes.
Annamaria Minicozzi and the other’s awarded people were praised by Adam Sharples, acting chair of Barts Health, for their “outstanding” contributions: “you’ve each gone that extra mile, setting a standard of excellence for patient care and embodying the teamwork that makes Barts Health outstanding”.
“Health Heroe” Minicozzi qualified from the University of Messina, Italy, in 2001, before completing further specialist training in general and colorectal surgery.
