A new Italian restaurant in Kensington: it’s called Sartoria, opened on November the 4th in Launceston Place, non-far from High Street Ken, and wants to blend “accessible luxury of its cucina elegante with effortless Milanese style” .

The menu of this new outpost of Sir Terence Conran’s iconic Savile Row restaurant, now part of the Evolv Collection group, has been created collaboratively by a trio of chefs (Marco Ruggiu, Davide Torro and Gianmarco Cossentino). It features à la carte breakfast and brunch offerings, plus piccoli piatti at lunch, shifting to the evening with an elevated menu of refined Milanese dishes, paired with wines from a list of more than 100 labels. Primi piatti from £15.5 to £29.5, Secondi Piatti from £27.5 to £38. For aperitivo and after-dinner tipples, the Sartoria Bar shakes signature cocktails alongside the restaurant’s curated wine programme.
The dishes celebrate both tradition and creativity, with starter highlights such as
Insalata di Polpo topped with potato, celery, capers, olives and carrots, and Uovo Morbido
with parmesan sauce and black truffle. Among the standout mains, Calamarata alla Pescatora -fresh pasta with mussels, clams and red prawns – captures the essence of coastal Italian cuisine, while Scarola Gratinata, a vegan baked endive with olives and raisins, offers a lighter yet flavourful alternative.
Designed for sharing, The Real Veal Milanese features a tender veal cutlet served with
tomato and lettuce salad, capturing the warmth and conviviality of Italian dining. To finish, the
dolci menu features delightful Persimmon Panna Cotta with granola and Torta Diplomatica –
an Italian classic layered cake with sponge, puff pastry and diplomatica cream.
Originally founded by Sir Terence Conran in 1990, Sartoria was inspired by Milan, epicentre of fashion, design, and elegant food and living. Fusing the sartorial heritage of Savile Row with authentic Italian cuisine, it quickly became one of London’s most celebrated Italian restaurants. Following a complete redesign in 2015, Sartoria has now entered a new chapter under the Evolv Collection, the group which acquired the restaurant earlier this year.
The interiors in Launceston Place combine mid-century Milanese design codes with Conran’s original spirit: sharp tailoring, rich textures, and understated glamour. Every Sartoria location has its own personality, with Launceston Place conceived as a true neighbourhood Milanese restaurant. Martin Williams, CEO of Evolv Collection, plans “further sites to follow later this
year and early 2026”.
“Our founder, Sir Terence Conran’s vision for Sartoria was – Martin William said – to introduce guests to the elegant style of Milan, his favourite city. Through the delicious, authentic food and vibrant ambience, Sartoria offers a true Milanese escape in the heart of Savile Row, and it is that spirit that we now want to bring to other neighbourhoods across London. The opening of Sartoria Launceston Place is an important step in our strategic vision for The Evolv Collection, as we continue to create iconic, recognisable brands that resonate with guests and stand the test of time,”
