
Intimate and striking depictions of Marilyn Monroe, Mia Farrow, Marlene Dietrich, Anita Ekberg, Wenda Parkinson, Jane Birkin, and other renowned figures give life to an exhibition of photography rrunning from 21st January to 31st March in the new Boutique Hotel ‘60 Hyde Park Gate, formerly Baglioni Hotel.
Curated by Carola Syz and Francesca Filippini Pinto, the exhibition “Shades of Glamour” celebrates the golden age of Hollywood and high fashion and brings together 14 captivating black-and-white portraits from the 1950s through the 1970s.
This collection, featuring works by some of the most iconic photographers of the 20th century, captures the allure, vulnerability, and charisma of some top celebrities, offering a rare glimpse into the essence of glamour during a transformative era in fashion and cinema and offers a journey into an era of timeless elegance and style and features the works of legendary photographers Eve Arnold, Norman Parkinson, Terry O’Neil, Willie Christie, and Milton H. Greene. Their lens immortalised cultural icons and fashion legends, crafting images that continue to resonate with timeless sophistication. In the intentions of the curators “the exhibition is not just about photography, it’s a celebration of artistry, nostalgia, and the enduring impact of these icon” s. Each photograph wants to be a window into an era defined by its elegance, innovation, and bold creative expression.
